The category of Willamette Valley whites is dominated (and boy, do I mean dominated) by Pinot Gris. These simple, approachable, fruity whites are certainly tasty enough, but who decreed that Oregon could only produce one style of white wine? Patricia Green is of the opinion that the climate and terroir of Oregon is not even best expressed through the lens of Pinot Gris, and thus, she prefers to work with Sauvignon Blanc. The result certainly justifies her feeling: a unique and intriguing take on a much beloved grape.
