LAURENT PERRIER BRUT MILLESIME 08

James Suckling 92 points - Some slight reduction here, this has a lemon biscuit edge and attractive toasty autolysis influence. The palate is more about stone fruits with some mellow spicy flavors building to citrus through the finish. Drink now..October/2017
Laurent-Perrier has chosen to make vintages very rarely, only selecting the very best years. This makes the Brut Millesime a rare and outstanding wine that clearly expresses the specific character of a year in the Laurent-Perrier style.
Champagnes of Laurent-Perrier are mainly based on Chardonnay, whereas Pinot Noir is a junior partner and Meunier is only a very small part of the cuvees. Chef de cave Francois Cotard tries to extract the maximum of the aromatic part of the fruit to keep the natural freshness.
Bernard de Nonancourt created the Laurent-Perrier style. To do this, he revived and took over the traditional ways of champagne, but also launched new approaches at both technical and blending level. He created a range of unique wines with their own history and personality. Laurent-Perrier is now celebrated for its style and the consistency of its quality, cuvee after cuvee.
