Description:
The Cotes de Toul is a seldom encountered wine producing zone located in the Lorraine region of far northeastern France. Counting Luxembourg and Germany as close neighbors, the wines produced here are certainly of the cool climate variety. One grape that thrives in these conditions is Auxerrois (aka Pinot Auxerrois) which, in this case, makes for a full, fleshy dry white without oak interference. Asian pear, green apple and white flower notes are all part of the mix. Often confused for or mixed with Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois is a natural to work with the wide range of flavors that a harvest feast will throw at it.
