Domaine Alain Gras Saint Romain Rouge Red

WHY WE LIKE IT - Great vintage, great vineyard and excellent value Burgundy with plenty of complexity, balance and finesse. Just easing into the sweet spot.
TASTING NOTES - A distinctly ripe, indeed unusually so for St. Romain, nose features ever-so-slightly grapey aromas of various dark berries, earth and a hint of the sauvage. There is excellent richness to the round and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that offer mid-palate density that is rarely seen for the appellation, all wrapped in a beautifully complex and well-balanced finish. This is really very good and worth checking out and particularly so for value - moreover it could easily be enjoyed now or aged for a few years first. - Allen Meadows in 2017
