Barnard Griffin Merlot Columbia Valley

Grape: Merlot
Tasting Notes: Black fruit, Spice, Vanilla, Cherry
Founded in 1983 by Rob Griffin and Deborah Barnard, Barnard Griffin has been producing Award Winning wines for over 30 years. At that time, the region was unexplored and those who dared to grow wine grapes were considered pioneers in the wild-west of winemaking. That leap of faith developed into a prosperous career filled with awards and accolades over the last 40 years and still going strong.
Barnard Griffin is a classically styled Merlot that's elegant, richly textured, super smooth, nicely complex, and has great depth. It's medium to full-bodied with sufficient acidity to balance things out. There's a variety of classic Merlot flavors such as blackberry, plum, cherry, vanilla, blueberry, hazelnut, black cherry, and spices accented by licorice and earthy nuances. Pairs well with roasted vegetables or Pernil (Cuban pork shoulder).
