Adega Pedralonga Albarino Rias Baixas Spain

Pedralonga Albariño is from Rías Baixas produced by Francisco Alonso. The grapes come from vines (cultivated organically) which are more than 25 years old, planted on soils with a strong Atlantic influence. In 1997 Francisco founded the winery - Pedralonga, which means “big rock” in Gallego, a reference to the huge chunks of granite sticking out of the soil. It is now run by Francisco’s son Miguel.
Clean, elegant, and unctuous with marine freshness, bright acidity, and a slight fizz. Flavors of minerals, lemon, grapefruit, honey, pear, green apple, mandarin orange, and lime zest with notes of spice and oak all wash over your taste buds. The minerality returns on a very long, nervy finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Duck with orange glaze, teamed cockles, clams, sea bass, vegetable lasagna, sushi, San Simón cheese
