Description:
The Atlantic-influenced northwest of Spain has been front and center in the wine world in the past 10 or 15 years. And deservedly so. It’s a hotbed of young talent, old vines, interesting grape varieties, and lots of creativity. Mencia has emerged as Spain’s preeminent cool-climate red grape, and the little plateau region of Bierzo is its primary residence. This wine is fuller-bodied than the previous three reds in this lineup, and is wildly aromatic and flavorful, with notes of late summer berries and thyme.
