Parker: 91 $50 "This small artisanal winery, owned by the Jackson Family, has fashioned an impressive, dark ruby/plum-colored Pinot Noir Annapolis Vineyard made from Dijon clones 777, 667, 115, and the Pommard clone. The wine was aged 9 months in 100% French oak, 50% new. Aromas of Chinese black tea, spring flowers, black & red currants, an intriguing minerality, and forest floor nuances emerge. Drink this concentrated wine now-2020." Winemaker Craig Mcallister is also the enologist and assistant winemaker at La Crema. This bold wine is a true expression of coastal Pinot Noir with naturally bright acidity and firm yet integrated tannins that complement multiple layers of aroma and flavor. It balances the acidity and spicy notes with a rich texture and very smooth tannins. The palate is a complex mix of pomegranate, red plum, spice, orange zest, and dark chocolate.
