Description:
Newton Merlot opens with much riper notes as a result of the hot, dry season. Black plum is the most prominent fruit note introduced along with cassis. Cedar, delicate aromas of toasted oak and faint brown sugar follow. A faint spice on the nose as well as the other aromas carry to the palate with lingering flavors. A richness of texture provides width to the palate, evenness from front to back, complemented by fine grain tannins.
